Senior Commodity Analyst

The Commodity Analysis group provides analysis, modelling and research on European and Global energy commodities, primarily oil, coal, gas and carbon. The group is responsible for developing commodity price forecasts and providing regular insightful reports covering the tradable markets, and longer term forecasts to support asset life valuations. They are responsible for providing commodity price analysis to support trading, power market modelling, and business development opportunities. The Senior Commodity Analyst will have a particular focus on the gas markets and will provide leadership to the Commodity Analysis Group.

Knowledge and skills:

• Advanced market modelling and commercial research skills
• Advanced knowledge of the UK and European gas markets
• Detailed knowledge of the global and European energy markets, their macro economic trends and regulation
• Strong quantitative analysis skills combined with the ability to make qualitative analytical insights into market behaviours
• Well developed professional communication skills (oral and written)
• Leadership skills with strong focus on project delivery
• Ability to manage conflicting tasks and priorities to achieve the best commercial outcome
• Authoritatively communicate results and finding of analysis to senior management.
