Working for a major Trading House, this position is responsible for supporting the Structuring and Pricing Manager in the pricing, analysis and structuring of energy transactions in natural gas, electricity, oil, FX, CO2, LNG and related markets.
Duties and Responsibilities
Valuation of structured transactions (swing, storage, transport capacity etc)
Assisting in the development of new pricing models and methods
Valuation and risk assessment of asset based transactions
Evaluating customer requirements and pricing retail products
Working closely with traders to assist in the development of trading strategy
Working closely with the Origination team to assist in deal structuring
Qualifications
Degree level education in a highly quantitative subject
Skills and Competencies
Strong programming experience in C#, VSTO, SQL server, C++ and Python.
Experience of programming numerical algorithms
Experience of database design
Strong commercial acumen, combined with an understanding of financial risk and option value
Able to communicate complex issues in a clear, understandable manner to customer facing business units
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a trading environment
High attention to detail in both numerical analysis and written work
Should be capable of developing a good understanding of market dynamics and modelling methods, and apply it to real-world transactions.
Strong influencing skills
Experience
Previous experience in a commodity or financial trading environment.
Previous exposure to trading, retailing, or asset management in traded markets
Knowledge of common energy products such as full requirements sales, swing, storage or tolling would be an advantage
