Chief Engineer - Wind Sector

Job Title: Chief Engineer – Wind Energy
Department: Clean Energy
Salary: to c£100,000 pa package + benefits dependent on experience

Job Purpose

My client is an international engineering solutions business, and due to expansion in the wind sector requires an experienced Chief Engineer to join the company and manage the development of the wind energy business through to overseeing the deliverance of the projects when won.

Responsibilities
 Define customer target strategy.
 Define internal Research and Development activities.
 Develop technical selling materials.
 Lead the development of bids for major projects.
 Develop the project structures to ensure successful delivery and good profits for the business.
 Deliver projects within the Group and Engineering Operations Matrix structure.
 Manage both customer deliver and internal requirements.

Skills /Experience
Essential
 Experienced wind energy professional.
 Professional engineering qualifications
 Fluent English.
 Experience and track record in delivering technical product development projects.
 Excellent network of contacts in the wind energy industry.
 Experience with one or more of the following organisations:
Wind turbine manufacturer or major subsystem manufacturer.
Wind energy consultancy (from a technical rather than planning or economic position).
Wind farm manager/operator.
Wind energy division of a major utility.

Desirable
 Good German, Spanish and/or Danish.
 Wind new product development experience.
 Whole system (Wind turbine) experience
 Technical papers published in wind Research and Development.
